Site identified for adventure sports centre in Tiruchi

The centre will come up in about 7 lakh sq. ft. area.Tiruchi Birds Park, which was inaugurated recently, has become a hit with people thronging the facility in large numbers. Hence, buoyed by the response, the district administration has come forward to establish an adventure sports centre in Tiruchi. It aims at promoting adventure and ecocamping tourism by offering highquality facilities and experiences tailored to youth, middle aged, and the elderly. It will align with sustainable practices while boosting the local economy and creating jobs.The district administration has identified a site close to Tiruchi Birds Park near Kambarasampettai on Tiruchi,Karur highway for the proposed adventure sport centre in the city.The idea was to engage the tourists to spend a day at the centre to test their skills in various activities. Since the proposed centre was close to Tiruchi Birds Park, tourists and visitors could also make use of the opportunity to engage themselves at the sports centre. Discussions were on to formalise the proposal.the Collector said the centre would focus on developing tourism potential, thereby creating livelihood opportunities and sustainable growth. It would promote local entrepreneurship in sectors such as hospitality, food services, and tour operations. The proposed facility would not only serve the people of Tiruchi but also domestic tourists.

  21.89 lakh net additions to EPFO in june ,says govt. EPFO enrolled around 10.62 lakh new subscribers in June, representing a 12.68% increase over May and a growth of 3.61% compared to June 2024 The Union Labour Ministry said on Wednesday (August 20, 2025) that the  Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO)  has registered a net member addition of 21.89 lakh this June – the highest since tracking of payroll data began in April 2018. Compared to last month, net payroll additions increased 9.14% and vis-à-vis June 2024, the growth is 13.46%.
